An email today, from ACA

Dear all,

If you registered with the ACA Lawyers website, you would have received an email from them today.

Here is a link to the FOS service (http://www.fos.org.au) which is provided by the Australian government.

Regards,

Adam

    I’ve not seen anything..?

    Regards.. Glenn

No, nothing here either and I did register an interest.

Several of my emails to ACA have been ignored. I was asking if UK citizens could be included in their class action or was it just for Australians.

Perhaps they have only sent emails to Australian addresses?

    • amorris says:

Mine wasn’t an Australian address. I know of at least a few others who got it.

      • C S says:

So how do we get a response since they just ignore emails?

Can anyone who got an email give any idea what is happening?

    • Glenn says:

Hi, I’m UK too so that might be a reason..?

      • C S says:

        Hi,

A group of us UK citizens is trying to put together an action with a London lawyer. He’s another one that doesn’t answer emails.
What is wrong with these people? Don’t they realise the anxiety and frustration they cause? It isn’t good enough when people have already suffered so much by losing their life savings.

I don’t know why they’ve directed you to FOS. FOS is only available to investments made in Australia. For most of you, you invested via an overseas financial advisor into a non-Aust registered investment scheme. Ergo – you can’t use FOS.

And just to be clear, FOS is not part of the Aust government or ASIC. It’s an independent company that financial firms in Australia subscribe to. In Australia, as part of having a financial services licence, companies are required to subscribe to a third party dispute resolution service.

    • amorris says:

Thanks, Lee, I was just looking into FOS for more information. I also didn’t realize it’s not officially part of the gov’t; I assumed this based on the kind of service, that, and the url.

I would like to hear about the group of UK investors getting together. Would you be willing to let me know the details? If yes we can ask Victor to put us in touch

  5. Cathy Stott says:

    Certainly.

If VJ or whoever wants to send me your email I will happily email you.
